Pre-Conference Events

NAFA offers I&E attendees the opportunity to get a jump start on their education through pre-conference events. These workshop-style events offer a deep dive into fleet’s hot topics.

All pre-conference programs will take place Sunday, April 4, 2027 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.

For 2027, attendees will be able to participate in one of two pre-conference events:

  • Information Management Certificate Program
  • Sustainable Fleet Management Certificate Program*

*This course is worth 4 Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) Recertification Points.

Information Management Certificate Program

Fleet managers are surrounded by data, but many organizations struggle to turn that information into meaningful operational insight. In today’s increasingly technology-driven fleet environment, understanding how to manage and apply fleet information is essential.

This discipline provides fleet professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to work effectively in a data-rich, but sometimes information-poor, environment. Fleet professionals will better understand fleet systems, telematics, data management, reporting, and strategies for interpreting information so they can make more informed decisions, improve operational efficiency, and communicate more effectively with leadership and IT teams.

Participants will learn how to better use available technologies to manage information, support decision-making, and improve fleet operations.

  • Fleet Management Information Systems
  • Fleet system selection and implementation
  • Telematics
  • Data management and system administration
  • Reporting and data analysis
  • Artificial intelligence (AI)—new for 2027!

Course includes:

  • Information Management Digital Guidebook and Study Guide (sent starting March 29, 2027).
  • Online Exam: First sitting is included. Additional sittings may be purchased if needed.
  • A certificate will be awarded to all participants who pass the online exam by April 7, 2028.

Sustainable Fleet Management Certificate Program*

Things change quickly in the field of fleet sustainability, and everyone seems to have a different opinion about what you should do.
